Linda spoke in the debate on 9 September.
“I would like to talk a wee bit more about what the debate is about: the independent budget review. The other day, Mr Crawford Beveridge said that he had hoped that, as a result of the discussions about the reform of public services, we would get the space for conversations to take place about the future of public services. He also talked about the opportunity for a new kind of politics and said that now is the time to do that. In our cabinet secretary, we have someone who is willing to consider a new kind of politics and to look for consensus. Sadly, the tired old parties are hooked on Calman and are unwilling to move forward. It really is time for a new politics. I urge the other parties to join the SNP in creating it.”
