Linda Fabiani MSP for East Kilbride has welcomed the news that business intelligence company SAS is planning to expand its East Kilbride base creating skilled jobs in the town.
SAS, who design and provide products used for counter-terrorism, crime prevention and intelligence, also plan to upgrade their offices in the South Lanarkshire town.
Linda Fabiani said; “This is great news and further evidence that East Kilbride is an excellent place to do business. We have a strong tradition of manufacturing and innovation in East Kilbride which has seen other successful companies such as Glencairn Crystal and Controlled Therapeutics set up here.
“Our close proximity to top class universities and the outstanding record of South Lanarkshire College which is based in East Kilbride, mean we have a skilled workforce who will be delighted at the opportunities this announcement by SAS brings.
“Despite the global economic downturn, East Kilbride is emerging as a hub for innovation and growth. I welcome this announcement and look forward to more good news on the East Kilbride job front.”
