Gladys is the Convenor of the East Kilbride SNP Constituency Branch and a local resident.   She has two children, a son and a daughter.   Her son lives and works locally for a firm in East Kilbride and her daughter attends a local school.

Gladys is an IT Business Development Manager and has worked in local government for over 20 years.   She has managed IT support and solutions for every service department including Police and Fire throughout a number of Local Authorities and has therefore a strong background in the policies of local government.   The majority of her service has been to the Corporate, Financial and Democratic areas within the local authorities.

In her career she worked for East Kilbride District Council prior to local government re-organisation and was involved in the wind-up and consolidation of the East Kilbride Development Corporation in 1995.   She transferred to South Lanarkshire Council at its inception on 1st April 1996 and assisted in the rationalising of the IT services from the consolidated East Kilbride, Clydesdale and Hamilton District Councils and services from the disaggregated Strathclyde Regional Council.

As a UNISON Branch Officer and Shop Steward, she actively represents her members and her branch.
