Linda Fabiani MSP for East Kilbride has wished East Kilbride residents a Happy New Year!
Linda said “Its been another fast-paced and eventful year. Looking back on 2011 the highlight for me was certainly being chosen by the people of East Kilbride to represent them in our national parliament in Edinburgh.
“I had been MSP for Central Scotland since 1999 but it is truly a special privilege to be elected in Scotland’s most successful New Town and I would like to say once again how grateful I am for the opportunity to serve the people of East Kilbride.
“We have a busy office up and running in Strathmore House so please feel free to contact me or just drop in if you have anything you would like to bring to my attention.
“Many people have had a troubled 2011 especially due to global financial difficulties but there are green shoots of recovery sprouting throughout the country, particularly in the renewables sector of which our South Lanarkshire College is a major contributor to with it’s Aurora House.
“I sincerely hope and believe 2012 can be the start of the better times ahead. I will do everything in my power to ensure East Kilbride prospers in the coming years just as the Scottish Government are devoted to improving living standards for all the people of Scotland, as shown by initiatives such as Opportunity For All, and the appointment of a Minister for Youth Employment, to ensure no young person is left behind.
“Thank you again to you all and have a very Happy New Year!”
