Linda Fabiani MSP for East Kilbride has welcomed the news that Coca-Cola Enterprise’s East Kilbride site will benefit from a £5.4m investment that will see the installation of an energy-efficient bottle blowing facility for producing lightweight PET bottles, and a state-of-the-art packaging machine that removes the need to use cardboard in multi-pack products.
Linda who recently met with CCE Marketing & Operations Manager, John MacLean and some of his committed management team at the College Milton complex said “This is great news for business in East Kilbride and demonstrates the confidence large multi-national companies, such as Coke-cola Enterprises have in our town.
“I continue to be impressed by the work done by Coca-Cola Enterprise in East Kilbride who are on the brink of reaching a major recycling milestone by recycling 100% of waste in one calendar year.
“Achievements like this can only be reached as a result of a great team effort and that is apparent here in East Kilbride and I am sure was instrumental in deciding the location of this new project.
“This announcement marks a further milestone in East Kilbride’s emergence from the recession as a ‘Green Force’ which is bringing investment and jobs to the town.
“Coca-Cola Enterprises is another example of an East Kilbride success story and I warmly welcome this news.”
