Councillor David Watson (EK West)

Office: 01698 454654

David has 20 years experience in Local Government having been first elected to East Kilbride District Council in 1992. Over the past 20 years his track record of supporting his constituents and “standing up to be counted” on the big issues affecting East Kilbride and the surrounding area speaks for itself.

David lives in the East Kilbride West area which he currently represents. He holds three regular monthly surgeries and is also available for home visits.

Over the last three years David was a member of the Organising Committee which delivered the highly successful 2011 International Children’s Games for Lanarkshire.

David is looking for your vote to allow him to continue to lead the way in campaigning for better transport links for the area, campaigning against any proposal by Glasgow City Council to extend the life of the Cathkin land fill site and campaigning to make sure that the Western Growth Area has minimal impact on the existing surrounding community as well as ensuring that there are adequate recreational facilities provided.

David was the only local EK West Councillor to make representation to the Boundaries Commission regarding the proposal to split the EK West area away from the rest of East Kilbride to join up with East Renfrewshire for Westminster Elections.
