Linda Fabiani MSP for East Kilbride visited the Royal Mail’s East Kilbride sorting office to see the effort being put in by local men and women to ensure cards and presents are delivered on time for Christmas. Linda dropped by this morning during one of the sorting office’s busiest times to see the hard work going on behind the scenes.
Linda said “I was delighted to have the chance to pop into the sorting office in East Kilbride which is the largest outside of Glasgow City Centre.
“The East Kilbride office serves quite a sizeable and diverse area and manager John Hannon and his staff are certainly putting a great deal of effort into meeting the demands that the festive season places on the postal service.
“We only have to think back to this time last year, when East Kilbride was beset by snow and ice, to realise just what Royal Mail staff sometimes have to overcome to ensure our letters, cards and packages reach us and as the MSP for East Kilbride, I want to express my appreciation for their sterling work.”
